Work Experience / Internship
Ideal: the combination of language training and professional
activity.
Language in an everyday professional environment: this
is the magic formula if you want to intensify your linguistic
ability and simultaneously gain new professional experience.
With work experience in England and Canada and internship
in the USA Eurocentres offers you the opportunity of
doing exactly this, in collaboration with specialists
in the field. You get a sense of international business
environment, get to know professional colleagues from
another country, extend your language and career horizons
and thus improve your chances on the job market.
This is what you need to know about your Work Experience/Internship.
* Minimum age: England and Canada 28, USA 28
* Language ability: at least Level 5 on the Eurocentres
Scale
* Experience of work, vocational training or higher
education is an advantage
* The pattern is the same in all three countries: your
Work Experience/ Internship course follows your Eurocentres
language course and is the same length as the language
course. The two separate elements (language course;
Work Experience/Internship) are booked at the same time.
* Visa: When you enrol, you will receive the information
about the necessary conditions, plus the necessary forms,
from our Work Experience partner. In the USA: if you
have already found a place for your practical training
yourself, we can still help you with the completion
of the necessary visa formalities.
* Enrolment: at least 3 months (UK, Canada) or 6 months
(USA) before the start of the relevant Work Experience/Internship.
In what types of companies is Work placement/Intership
available?
Our partner organisations have numerous contacts with
successful companies and years of experience. They will
give you individual advice and can usually offer you
a placement in the field you want. The condition is
that you have completed training or have professional
experience in that field.
Where are the companies which are offering work placements?
In England: in the region around London and in South
England. In the USA: in all the states.
What about earnings?
Most companies do not pay wages, although some may provide
a little pocket money or a contribution to daily travel.
What can you expect from your host companies?
You will gain valuable professional experience and be
able to improve your language ability. The company will
draw up a suitable work programme with you. Your contact
person will carefully introduce you to your work. At
the end of the placement, you are given a certification
about your employment.
Where will you live?
Our partner organisations help you to look for accommodation:
with a host family, in a hotel or a Student Residence.
Who is your contractual partner?
Eurocentres acts as a mediator. You conclude the contract
with the Eurocentres partner.
